    Let’s plan your next move.

We help our clients find the way forward.

We’re so glad you’re here.  You’re most likely here because something is off, and you know that it’s time to make a change. Luckily, you landed in the right spot! We’re not an all fluff and no stuff group of therapists. We want to help you feel like you again.

We teach our clients about anxiety, and provide an array of empirically- supported treatments to get you back to enjoying your life quickly.

We help stressed out parents re-connect with their kids.

We connect with the perfectionist, and work toward reaching an understanding that sometimes, good enough, is in fact, good enough.

We support anxious teenagers so they can better manage in social and academic situations.

We help moms and dads struggling with postpartum issues, and remind them that they are not crazy.

We listen to stay at home moms express that they think they’re not doing enough, and remind them that they’re doing it all. We help them find their voice again.

We understand the high performing executives with debilitating levels of stress and help them find some version of balance.

We teach partners how to communicate their needs when they seem to have gotten lost along the way.

We understand the teenage emotions that come with puberty, friend drama, and the overuse of technology, and find a meaningful way to connect with them so they can learn to better manage their emotions.

We empathize with the high achieving athlete who feels like they cannot let anyone down….ever.

Whatever may be going on right now, chances are that we can help. There are options for you, and you’re not alone.

We will help you regain your sense of control, and work toward finding a sense of balance again.

You probably hate the way things are right now.  Anxiety and low self-esteem keep getting in the way of you enjoying your life.  Frustrations such as FOMO (fear of missing out), less than perfect self-esteem, difficulty making decisions, constant worrying, and strained relationships leave you feeling less than your best.  You look around and begin to feel like you’re missing out on things, and you may ask yourself, “how did I get here?”

THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT YOU DON’T HAVE TO FEEL THIS WAY FOREVER.

It’s time to make that change, and move away from FOMO and move toward JOMO (joy of missing out)! We can help you find ways to better manage feelings and emotions that can seem out of control at times. Reach out for a free consultation and let’s get to know each other.

If you read this and thought….that doesn’t really describe me, but you think we would be a good fit, please reach out! We appreciate any contact from those who are motivated to make improvements in their lives.

     WHERE WE COME IN.

Back to Balance Counseling specializes in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, sport performance, health anxiety, specific phobias, PTSD, issues related to insomnia, postpartum depression and anxiety, stress management, perfectionism, body image issues, panic disorder, self-esteem concerns, OCD, depression, and life transitions. People seek counseling for an array of reasons. Due to life’s circumstances, people can suffer from feelings of stress, anxiety, loss, sadness, or inadequacy. Others may decide counseling can help them with their journey toward self-discovery.

It’s time to stop feeling like every day is a dumpster fire.

It seems like everyone has anxiety these days, right? The term is used so loosely that we’re finding many people are self-diagnosing themselves with an anxiety disorder. While many of us do lead busy lives filled with deadlines, meetings, and expectations, that does not mean that all busy people experience anxiety. We spend most of our time with clients determining the cause of their anxious feelings. Once we can figure that out, we are able to work on the real issues and make great progress.

Our thoughts dictate our feelings, our feelings dictate our behavior, and our behavior reinforces our thoughts. We frequently find that we get caught up in faulty thinking patterns that do not do us any favors. This happens throughout the course of the day, and for the most part, we are unaware of this thought trap.

We utilize empirically-supported treatments to help our clients regain a sense of control over their lives. We help anxious individuals create a different relationship with their anxiety so they can begin to feel like they are in charge of their life again. Sometimes self-help books and podcasts aren’t enough! Rather than feeling like life is happening TO you every day, we’ll help teach you skills to take steps toward living a more rich and meaningful life.

Additionally, we help teens who are struggling to find their way. Whether it’s friend drama, stress from being involved in way too many activities, athletic performance pressures, the overwhelm of managing an AP class load, conflict with parents…we can guide you through these things so you don’t stress yourself out any further.

Maybe you’ve considered therapy before, but thought it might be too much of a change. Change can be scary! We get it. The good news is…we’re definitely not here to scare you!

If life isn’t going right, and you’re ready to make some changes so you can stop hating yourself, let’s get to know each other and figure out how we can help.
